4.5 hours CPD

Details

This seminar will bring together key findings from a small-scale research study of Early Permanence (Concurrent Planning and Fostering for Adoption) to inform practice and policy.

      The study included:

      • a rapid review of evidence
      • analysis of published national data
      • interviews and focus groups with key stakeholders, including adopters

The session will be led by Rebecca Brown and Claire Mason from The Centre for Child and Family Justice Research at Lancaster University.

      It will explore:

      • Key messages from published Early Permanence and broader adoption research
      • Regional variations in the use of Early Permanence placements
      • Messages from professionals and adopters about how Early Permanence services can be better developed

You will have an opportunity to learn about the latest research, whilst at the same time having the opportunity to identify the situations you find most challenging and work in smaller groups to consider various solutions. You will be able to network with practitioners from other agencies.
