Effective family finding has been particularly challenging during the Covid-19 pandemic. Courts are experiencing significant backlogs, leading to significant delay in the making of Placement Orders. Additionally, the establishment of RAAs has impacted on the numbers of children being placed under the interagency adoption system.

Supporting our adopters in increasingly lengthy waits is challenging. This practice webinar will look at:

  • Trends in Family Finding over time
  • Supporting adopters to navigate the “adopter led journey” to finding the right match – promoting resilience
  • Presenting our adopters to children’s social workers

You will have the opportunity to learn what Caritas Care are doing to family find for their adopters, whilst at the same time having the opportunity to work in smaller groups to identify solutions to the current challenges we face when seeking to make the best matches for our families.

You will be able to network with practitioners from other agencies: whether you are new to adoption or have been undertaking assessments for many years, this is a chance to share best practice and glean new ideas. 


A member of staff will be in touch with attendees one week prior to the event to share a pre-event delegate pack.
