About membership

CVAA members are not-for-profit adoption agencies in all four nations of the UK. They are diverse in size, location, and offer, but every single CVAA member is committed to supporting adopted children and their families, for life.

CVAA is the collective voice of the voluntary adoption sector. We advocate for member agencies and represent them in national forums, including at the Adoption and Special Guardianship Leadership Board and with the Department for Education.

We support partnership working, both within the voluntary sector and between VAAs and statutory colleagues (LAs and RAAs). We bring members together with each other and other organisations so that they can improve services, innovate, share learning and problem-solve.

We create networks for our membership so that everyone can benefit from the best of the sector. Everyone who works in our member agencies has access to the Practice Development Programme and other networking opportunities, including annual membership events and regular Marketing Hub meetings.

We provide high-quality, low-cost training and workshops based on our members’ development priorities. Our events programme promotes the work of our members and equips adoption professionals with the knowledge and resources to incorporate evidence into their practice and measure their impact.
