About us

CVAA is a UK-wide collective of 28 not-for-profit organisations that aim to increase excellence in the adoption system.  We are at the forefront of national adoption policy and represent and advocate for our members in national forums.

The role

We are seeking someone to Chair our Board of Trustees who has passion and enthusiasm for the power of adoption to change children’s lives and for the role of the voluntary sector in providing choice and high-quality support to adoptive and birth families.

Ideally you will bring:

  • Excellent collaborative and facilitation skills, able to build consensus and ownership
  • Experience of effective governance using an empowering and inclusive leadership style
  • Commitment to improving the lives of children and families
  • Understanding of the charitable sector and support for CVAA’s mission and values
  • Experience of leadership in a multi stakeholder context
  • A track record of senior level influence, inspiring and motivating change
