Team Manager - Assessment Team
Salary £42,000 -£48,000

IAC is particularly keen to recruit a manager from a BAME background to ensure that our workforce continues to reflect the diversity of our children and families. The face of intercountry adoption has changed over the years, over 85% of the placements we make are for children who share the same heritage as their adopters. In addition many others are kinship adoptions and children with special needs.

At IAC everyone is passionate about what we do because we understand that our work is life changing for the world’s most vulnerable children, and also the families that adopt through us. IAC continues to be an Outstanding Adoption Agency (Ofsted Inspection January 2020) and we are the lead agency for the Intercountry Adoption Regional Adoption Agency for England (ICA RAA). Based in High Barnet, we have both a UK wide and international reach. We are the only Adoption Agency in the UK to be accredited abroad. IAC also runs a small domestic adoption service, the UK Special Programme, principally for approved intercountry adopters seeking to change their focus to the adoption of children in the UK. Led by a dynamic and inspirational Leadership Team, with a strong focus on the wellbeing of our workforce, IAC is a great place to work and belong for anyone who feels passionate about adoption.

IAC is seeking to recruit a Team Manager in our Assessment Team. You may be a Manager or Senior Social Worker but will come with a sound knowledge and understanding of adoption assessments and experience of working in an adoption team, ideally with supervisory experience. Knowledge of intercountry adoption is a distinct advantage although not essential.

The Team Manager will work alongside another experienced Team Manager and be responsible for supervising staff who will support them in ensuring that the team produces high quality and robust assessments with a strong focus on safeguarding, diversity and the lifelong impact of adoption.

All applicants must be registered with Social Work England, be legally able to work in the UK and hold a professional Social Work qualification, consolidated with post qualifying experience in Children and Families work and Adoption Services.
